I know of so many drastic changes going on in the lives of family and friends right now that it almost feels like I'm standing still. But when I think about it, what looks like "same old, same old" in my life is actually that scary slow metamorphosis type change. Business is on a slow, but steady incline and our troubles have transitioned from worrying about surviving to fidgeting with growing pains (getting more students, hiring more teachers/staff to help the demand of students, renovating and expanding teaching space, etc). Bigger than that, Josiah is growing like a weed and I am struggling to keep up!
I recently heard someone relate striving for things in life to paddle boarding. Though I've never been, I'm told when you begin paddle boarding you feel like you're gonna fall, but the only way to not fall or lose your balance is to, well, paddle. It might not look pretty, but it's progress. I guess I'm a beginner paddle boarder of life right now. The whole striving to achieve my goals thing combined with trying to not miss out on the current looks ugly, but it's progress.
Do you know what I mean? Are you flailing around, looking like a fool on your life paddle board like me? If so, cheers to us. We look ridiculous, but we're making progress! We just have to make sure we're enjoying the view on the way.
